MA Research Methods (Sociology/Social Policy)

The course a) equips students with the theoretical understandings and practical skills required to carry out in-depth research in Sociology and Social Policy using a variety of methodological approaches and research techniques b) Is of particular interest to social science graduates preparing for doctoral studies and/or a career in health and social policy or care. c) Offers a broad base with modules in Research Design and Practice, Philosophy of Social Science, Qualitative and Quantitative Methods as well as an advanced module in either Sociology or Social Policy. The emphasis throughout is upon linking theoretical arid methodological understandings with practical experience of research design and implementation.
